This beaded necklace consists of a wedjat eye, one of the most popular amulets in ancient Egypt. Repr esenting the “healed eye” of the god Horus, the wedjat embodies healing and symbolizes rebirth. A necklace with this amulet was thought to protect its wearer and transfer the power of regeneration onto him or her. It was used by the living and made available to the dead for use in the afterlife.
