Object Description

Per Donor:
A superb, dark and richly inked impression with strong contrasts and no sign of wear.
printed by Pierre-François Basan in the first 'recueil,' c 1785-90on unusual Oriental paper apart from the ordinary ‘receuil’ edition. Narrow to thread margins, and before the diagonal shading in the upper right corner. The letters “A G countermark” to an unknown watermark.
