Bronze was considered a more prestigious medium than terracotta. Cast from a mold made from an original prototype in wax or terracotta, this small figurine depicts a young woman standing with feet together and wearing a peplos, a rich outer robe gathered at the waist. It is carefully detailed and was meant to be appreciated from all sides.
