Silver, gilt, 80 mm. Loop attached at top

The medal depicts the statue of Muratori which was commissioned in 1847 and erected in the Piazzale Muratori by the Modenese artist Adeodato Malatesta (1805- 91[?]). The medal is not recorded in Forrer, who gives only three other medals of Muratori by N. Cerbara (i, p. 388), by T. Mercandetti, 1806 (4, p. 31) and by F. Speranza (1848-1903) (5, p. 599).
